We are pleased to invite Space Kids India to participate in Space Kalpana 2.0 – Mission 2047: "Rocket Revolution", a national-level Launch Vehicle Design Challenge organised by SIA-India under the Space Tutor Initiative.

Building on the success of the first edition, Space Kalpana: Dream. Discover. Design, this year's challenge invites students to go beyond learning about space and imagine, design and present the launch vehicles of the future.

Given Space Kids India's extensive engagement with young students and its work in nurturing interest in space science and STEM, we would be particularly delighted to have students from your network participate in the challenge, especially across the school categories. The challenge is open to:

• Category I: Junior School – Classes VI–VIII
• Category II: Senior School – Classes IX–XII
• Category III: Undergraduate Students

Students will participate in teams of 3–5 members and develop an original launch vehicle concept based on a mission and payload of their choice. Each team will submit a short video explaining their concept, its purpose, key innovation and how it differs from existing launch vehicles. The challenge is designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, systems thinking, innovation and communication, while giving students an opportunity to engage with India's growing commercial space ecosystem.

What participants gain

• An opportunity to explore launch vehicle design, develop an original concept and apply creative problem-solving to a space-sector challenge.
• Interaction with space-sector professionals and experts
• National visibility for promising ideas through SIA-India's platforms and the Grand Finale
• Recognition and awards, including digital certificates and opportunities for selected teams to showcase their concepts

The Grand Finale will be held during World Space Week (4–10 October), providing shortlisted teams an opportunity to present their ideas before industry leaders, space companies, policymakers and academia.

We would be grateful if Space Kids India could share this opportunity with its student network and encourage interested students to participate. We would be especially happy to see young space enthusiasts from your programmes bring their ideas to the national platform.
